Christmas Tag Class

Last night Gloria, Melanie and myself drove up to Irvine to a class run by Nora Griffin. We had such a good time she had all these sure cute kits made for us and we sat their for 2 1/2 hours making Christmas tags. I ended up with 25 complete tags and several items left to make more tags. They were super easy and a lot of fun to make.

New Blogspot

I decided that I don't have enough craziness in my life so I started a new blog site. It will be about great food and craft projects for kids or photography anything From the Heart, the name of my blog. You can click on blogs that I follow and get right to it. This Lemon Pecan Pie is my first post on it, this is a great pie.

Cutest Camp Project

I don't usually put much on my blog about my class but I had to put these ugly dolls we made this week during break camp. They were such a hit! Most of the kids had never sewn before, the boys especially liked making them. Each kid drew their own creature then I cut out both pieces of the felt, then we began to sew, some kids needing a lot more help than others. A few more were made and taken home, I hope to get a picture of them as well. I edited my pictures and added the others, they are so cute!

These are the Days to Remember

How many more days are the boys going to want to wrestle with their dad? I love to capture these little moments on my camera. They have so much fun, love to hear the laughter coming from my room, it reminds me of when they were young and would all wrestle on my bed.

Me and the Unicycle

Friday night Jeff had his unicycle out to practice on, so me thinking how difficult cam it be decided to try it out. No helmet, & wearing flip flops. I get up on the one wheel contraption and try it, I just went past the jeep and fell off. I am going to master it and will post a video as soon as I do.

1/2 marathon

Yesterday was a day of halves for me. The 1/2 marathon, making half of the bed, eating half a hamburger for dinner, scratching half of my arm and bruising half of my bum. All in all half is not so bad. Here we all are at the end of the race. Gloria and Victoria the runners and Melanie and I the skaters with blisters.

Lost Film

Don't you love it when you find an old disposable camera or 2 or 4? I just found 4 today so I dropped them of to be developed and found 2 were from when Wyatt was in 5th grade and this one from last year when the boys ditched school to go snowboarding for the day. I love to find pictures and laugh at all the fond memories from that trip, just like looking through a photo album.

These were from last May when the boys went to Snow Summit for the day and the boys got into a huge snowball fight because Jeff was trying to help Wyatt with something and of course he didn't want to hear it from his brother and did it his own way then turned to Jeff and said "So what were you saying?" in true little brother form. I love my boys, they are so good and really great friends.

What Can I Say? The Shirt Says It ALL!

Getting ready for the race

Today Gloria and I went down to get our race numbers, t-shirts and goodie bags. It was very busy at Road Runner Sports. I am excited to think that I am actually going to do this less than 6 months ago I would have just agreed to meet my friends at the restaurant for the big breakfast, now 50 pounds later I am doing something I never thought I would do or ever planned to do. It is pretty cool how you feel when you begin to loose weight. I am not sure why I didn't realize how fat and lazy I was before. Now I am exercising and watching my portions and not eating a bunch of junk and it is working. Weight Watchers has taught me so much.I will blog soon about my race.

What a Helper

We are on vacation from school for a few weeks so I have been doing camp and Wyatt has been the biggest helper. He has built a parachute fort, played tag, entertained them with his wierd ways and just plain old been the Pied Pipper of little kids, they follow him everywhere. Today the boys are plotting to beat us girls in a hockey game, we"ll see.

Five Days and Counting

I can't believe that in five day I will be skating my way through a 1/2 marathon. If you had told me a year ago that I would be signing up and paying to do any of this whacked out exercise thing I would have thought you'd be crazy. Now look at me I have joined forces with the same crazy people who took me to the dark side of freakishly liking exercise. Jason from my Boot camp is amazed that I am doing this stuff, when I first signed up for boot camp I told him that I hate to sweat, exercise and just want to do this to keep from sagging while loosing weight. Now six months later I have done three 5k races and about to embark on my first 13.1 mile race, even though it is on rollerblades it is still going to be a challenge.
Gloria texted me yesterday to find out how long it was going to take Melanie and I to finish the race. How am I suppose to know I have NEVER done anything like this before, I use to be 50 ponds heavier and LAZY! I told her I hope to finish in 1 hour and 20 minutes, but really I have now idea, having nothing to gage myself on. She just wanted to find out because our friend Dominique is coming to be at the finish line to take pictures as we finish. I will also have my camera with me along the race so watch on Monday for pictures of Melanie and myself during the race.

My guys

In between rain yesterday I thought it would be fun to go try to get some pictures of my guys for a Christmas card. It has been a long time since I had both of them on a card. It is so hard to get them together, Wyatt just wants to fool around and Jeff just got annoyed, I think he forgets what he was like when he was 13 years old. We will venture out another day to try again, maybe at Quail Gardens.

Two story Target

Apparently this two story Target is not such a big deal to most of my friends but I was excited when I went into it, especially not knowing what I was entering into. This Target has an escalator not only for people but for your carts as well, I was so excited! I am super excited that I always carry my camera with me. Tony was shocked when I told him that I took pictures I guess that is a big NO, NO in stores.

It Never Rains In Souther California . . .

So the song says. Yesterday I took a day for myself and went shopping at my favorite mall in my area. I sprinkled a bit here and there but once I got back up to my house and went into the grocery store it started to pour. When I walked out of the store they skies opened up and let loose . . . A real great down pour, I loved it. The best thing about when it rains here are the amazing sunsets, I am so blessed to be living where I do and sometimes I get so caught up in my day to day stuff I forget to stop and enjoy it.

Jeff Hard At Work?

Jeff has been doing some work around our school and I caught him the other day sitting down on the job. I am pretty sure that he is sick of that Fire Lane Red paint he had 2 acres of fire lines to paint ~ YUCK.

Wyatt's Survival Relay

Wyatt's class had a survival relay on Friday after they finished reading Hatchet. My class went out and cheered the kids on by yelling "GO BIG KIDS GO!" It was fun to watch the big kids swing over the pit of snakes, crawl under the chairs, do a three handed walk carrying a weighted ball, walk forward and backwards over a plank, then scamper on all four up a hill to tag the next team member.

Half Marthon

I signed up for my first ever Half Marathon. No I am not running it, I will be rollerblading it with my friend Melanie. It will be on November 16th down at the Silver Strand in Cornado, it is a really nice flat race route. I must be crazy, but I am excited.

Wyatt was happy

I finally made it

Finally right after school I went to the correct polling place and thank goodness they had a person outside greeting me because they had two polling places at one place. I did it, I voted and again showed Wyatt that it is his civic responsibility to vote.

Another Cathism

This morning I got up super early, made breakfast, got Wyatt up early and left to go vote. I got to my polling place the one I have voted at for all the 20 years that I lived in California. I wait in the super long line and after 40 minutes I get to the sign in table, give them my license and they look me up and tell me that I am at the wrong precinct. They changed my voting place I will have to go wait again tonight to vote.

Halloween Night

Last night was Hallowen and we ended up with 9 kids at our house to go trick or treating. I ordered 2 Manhattan Giant Pizzas, vegis, cupcakes and I made brownies. Five adults and 9 kids head south to go ask each and every house for candy, the kids did not miss one house. We finally made it the mile down the street to the haunted house, which each kid loved, during the mile walk back to our house a few of the younger kids were getting tired, their bags were sooooo heavy and their feet hurt. All in all it was very fun Wyatt got way to much candy and was sad it was over. I am so glad we live in So Cal as a child growing up in Maine I remember may Halloweens having to put on my snowsuit under my costume. We had a very warm beautiful evening, I am sure by Christmas I will not be thinking warm weather is so nice. Christmas is meant to be cold.
