last heart for February

I forgot about my favorite heart this month while I was posting pictures of all the hearts I found. This is my favorite heart because it was found on a cute horse. Have a wonderful day!

Love this sign!

I was at the doctors with Lou and I saw this sign, loved it! It was such a perfect sign at that time.

HTH walk for Haiti

Mt son's school is having a Walk for Haiti and he is trying to raise money, at least 50 dollars. The school has set up a web site http://www.hthforhaiti.org/ it give you all the information on their mission and how you can make a donation on his behalf.

Wyatt already bought his shirt to advertise this amazing fundraiser. If you can make a donation it would be much appreciated. If you make a note on your payment it is for Wyatt Schulz (yes there are 2 Wyatt's in the school) he will get credit for it. Thank you very much.

I got this great e-mail and had to share with my kids. . .

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill... barefoot... BOTH ways Yadda, yadda, yadda And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!
And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!
I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen!
Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take, like, a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!

Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! Nowhere was safe!

There were no MP3' s or Napsters! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself!
Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone. Cause - that's how we rolled, dig?

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!
And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'.. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen... forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on!

You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your booty and walk over to the TV to change the channel! NO REMOTES!!!There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons. And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove! Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980 or before!

Ever had one of those days?

. . .well that is how my day was on Friday. I went to the hospital to visit Lou after I got done work, should have filled my gas tank it was thirsty. I figured I was heading home and not leaving until the next morning, she could wait until then. After being home for an hour and a half, feeding the family and starting a new crochet project I get a call from the hospital. I throw on my flip flops and head out the door. The parking lot at the hospital is crazy full so I have to park way out behind the emergency entrance. Lou is very upset about having to have an MRI in the morning, I get her calmed down and explain to her that she will not be given any of the dye she is allergic to. After 2 hours of calming her down I finally am free to leave the hospital.
WOW! it is pouring not raining but down pouring so hard! I wait for like 5 mins and there is no sign of it letting up so I decide to tuck my purse under my arm pit and make a run for it. . . yes I forgot I was wearing flip flops. Of course I slip and fall flat on my booty in a big puddle. I start laughing because what was I suppose to do? I get up and walk slipping in my red checked flip flops. I finally find my car and get inside on my very wet behind. OH yes, I just noticed my very empty gas gage, can I make it home, I am so tired and very wet. I went for it and yes I made it home and into a very hot shower. I hope your Friday was better than mine.

Old Tree!

Everyone knows I love my job on the grounds of my school is the oldest tree in Encinitas. It is so big and really cool to look at, especially when you look up at it from underneath. The branches are all twisted and bent it looks super cool. Please do not ask me what kind of tree it is because like cars I would never be able to tell you the type, just enjoy the view.

Happy Heart Day!

Today is Valentine's Day and I spent the start of it in the ER . Jeannie was getting out of her bed last night to go potty, stubbed her toe, felt herself falling and tried to stop herself with her hand instead of catching herself she whacked her wrist on the edge of her dresser. She knew it was broken, so I splinted it and made a make shift sling and off we were to the hospital 35 mins away. After 5.5 hours we were back home.

I woke up a three hours later to a beautiful bouquet of orange Gerber daises. Wyatt snuck off to the florist down the street and bought them for me. He is such a sweet boy, I love him a bunch and I am really enjoying watching the person he is becoming.

I hope you are having a wonderful Love Day and sharing it with someone special to you.

Hearts are all around me . . .

I found the heart shaped rocks on a driveway. . . someone else must love hearts as much as me. . . in her yard she had a pond with heart shaped rocks all around it and in the middle of the hearts was a sign that said " Heart Beach" isn't that sweet?
I was waiting outside for a ride to Road Runner Sports today and I saw this beautiful flower all hearts. . . I wanted to pick it for my friend but I do not like to pick living flowers. I think I will just have to appreciate it daily on my street.

Sunday's Heart

Today I decided that I was going over to take a picture of another tree with a heart that I knew of. After I took it I stopped my car to take pictures of this tree that fell during our last storm and split in half. As I was getting back into my car I saw this beautiful little pink heart staring at me . . . She was so delicate and special I had to snap a lovely picture of her.

Saturday Morning heart

This morning I was out of my house at 6:45 am for 6 mile along the beautiful mist California coast when I had to stop to snap this shell with my camera, if you look at it, it is a heart! Pretty cool huh? I think so. I know the picture is blurry but it had to be stretched because it was tiny when I uploaded it from my phone. Have a lovely day.

Love at Starbucks

Today I made breakfast for all the teachers and staff at school and was racing out of Starbucks when I noticed this sweet little heart shaped leaf laying on the ground right at the door of my car, I was in such a hurry when I went got out of my car I didn't even notice it. Nothing like a little love standing right under your feet to make you stop and appreciate it.

Heart Knot

I L-O-V-E hearts, I always have, Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday and I want my future bakery to be named. . . well something about hearts. I have hear shaped measuring cups and measuring spoons and yet I still do not have the heart shaped cake pans I have coveted since I was young. No Hint! :)
When my friend Gloria told me about this photo challenge from this awesome website where the girl also loves hearts I had to do it. I remembered I had this picture from this past summer on the east coast. I notice hearts everywhere. I love them. I have more heart pictures and I also know where there is another heart shaped knot in a tree here near my house. I will post more heart pictures over the next week.

Happy Groundhog's Day

Groundhogs day was such a big deal growing up on the east coast but living here in San Diego it is really not a big deal, we have great weather all year round. AS I was trying to explain to my class about groundhogs day they do not get it. "An animal is going to say when winter is over?. . . . my calendar tells me when it is spring!"
To all my east coast friends sorry you are going to have a longer winter.

Polymar Snow

Today I made snow with the kids in my class. Well, actually it is a powder that you add water to and it becomes "snow". The kids had a blast and they even made a little snow man.
Tomorrow will be Groundhogs day a holiday that is not as celebrated here in California as it is on the east coast. Have a great day and keep peaceful and happy!
