Fruit and Tree

Got this great picture at Sea Port Village. Jeanne and her grandson (Wyatt) and her great grandson (Damien). Did you know teenagers could get cigs? REALLY they are the bubble gum ones I didn't even know they sold them still, they blow smoke and everything I remember as a kid. Crazy huh?

Happy day after Christmas

Ezekiel loves his new catnip mouse, he carries it all around the house, even bringing it up onto the chair with him and sleeping with it.
I was able to take the Christmas tree down today, all the Christmas stuff is gone. Ready to bring in a new year.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful, peaceful day! This is another and now favorite had Wyatt got for Christmas, I got 2 new lens for my camera so I cannot wait to try them out. I cooked a 15.5 pound prime rib, Tofurky, mashed potatoes, gravies, carrots& parsnips, green bean casserole, homemade cranberry sauce and a black forest cake for dinner tonight. It was all super yummy and everyone left full and very happy.

3 More days

Tonight I went on a photographic light tour of Christmas lights. This house had 50,000 lights that were all synced to a local radio station that played Christmas music. And those red things are laser lights, yes they also had laser lights synced as well. We went to a neighborhood that everyone had light everywhere, even on the grass. They had colored lights strung from tree to tree and each tree was wrapped in tin foil then wrapped with a red ribbon and tied with a big bow.

8 more days

Last night I made giant sugar cookies for my class as well as homemade butter cream frosting. This morning when I got to school I assembled kits for each child to take home and decorate their own cookies. Each kit contained 2 giant homemade sugar cookies, 2 colors of frosting, mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, and colored sugar as well as Popsicle sticks, a candy cane and a unicorn lollipop I bought for them in Disneyland and of course each kit had a stuffed animal in the bag with a silver bell around its neck.
Did I mention that the part theme was Polar Express?
Each kid came to school in their pajama. We ate donuts and drank hot chocolate, then we visited the elf's work shop stations and did a number of crafts, we had a book gift exchange ate a friendship lunch (a lunch that a friend brought to school for another friend) and ate cupcakes. Mr. Paul the director came in and read 3 stories to the kids we had a great day!

9 days until Christmas

Yup I didn't get to blog yesterday because I wasn't able to upload pictures last night.
Wyatt had to make a sugar skull mold for his Spanish class and finished it last night, he was super proud of it, it did the entire project himself, including all the clean up. Pretty cool!

Back from my trip to Maine

I got back to San Diego last night ans my flight was 40 minutes early. I was shocked. Today was a beautiful 78 degrees and S U N N Y! I love the sunshine! I did get more sunny days than gray days while I was in Maine.
Now that I am home I can start working on some of my more creative things I have floating around my head.

Shimmering, Shinning, Loveliness

Again this morning I woke up to the ground being covered with these tiny frozen droplets of ice covering the ground. I threw on my Uggs, grabbed my camera and went outside to capture some of natures beauty. For those of you that know me know I am a fan of actual people in my pictures so this trip to Maine is forcing me to capture and enjoy Mother Nature's work.
Frost laying on the grass ay 29 degrees.
A dead fall leaf holing onto the little shimmering ice crystals

Sunlight shinning through the trees
A crow sitting in a bare tree
The thermometer outside the kitchen window at noon. The hottest point of the house.

City Forest

This morning I got up and went to the City Forest, kind of redundant since all of Maine is a forest but I had never seen it. It was beautiful! As I entered through the gates there was a sign that warned of Great Horned Owls nesting and may attack. Of course I went looking for them but the only animal I saw was a 6 point buck on the hood of a pick up truck leaving the area. Crazy I know but I am in the woods of Maine and it is hunting season and . . .
Here is some frost on some sticks at the base of a culvert, I had wished it were snow but no luck.
This is a small pond and that big hill in the back ground is where the kids go sledding in the winter, it really makes me wish there was snow. Really that hill is man made. . . it use to be the Bangor City dump. :)

Her is the beaver damn in the small pond, it was so beautiful the pond with the morning sun shining on it.
This was a frozen bit of water but it looked so great, almost like a shadow of a women looking.
They have these cool rocks on top of rocks here too! Someone went into the woods and built it, I love these they remind me of the beaches at home.
