Everything Party for Wyatt

While we were here my sister Tammy had an Everything Party for Wyatt to celebrate all the holidays they miss with him as well as his 8th grade graduation, he had a blast. She had so much food (lots of pasta salads), cake a giant whoopie pie cake and a deep fried turkey that was surprisingly good and not at all fried tasting or greasy, of course I had run into town with my sister from another mother and didn't see it come out of the grease. The wish bone was gone I was told it disintegrated in the grease. YUCK!
Tammy even had this everything hat for him, it had something hanging off it or duct taped to it for every holiday or Maine thing. He was a good sport and wore it for a bit but it was very heavy he said, That Christmas ornament was made from slate she even had a bottle opener on it. It was a fun day despite the mosquito's.

Maine Camp

My camera screen is cracked so I am unable to see the images of the pictures I am taking but they come out really good ( for not being able to see anything). I will be glad to get back home and get it fixed. I know my camera so well that I am able to change it to black and white then back to color.

Here are the kayaks that are our favorite activity at the lake, they are a rainbow of colors.

We had a few good, sunny days so we headed to the woods. Wyatt, my sister Jennie and I stayed the night and had a great time. Aside for being eaten alive from the mosquito's outside at night we can't complain. Wyatt kept commenting on how green everything is and wants to move here right down to the lake.

Sisters Weekend

Friday morning I was picked up at 8:30 am , it was suppose to be 8:00 but they all run late all the time, by 3 of my sisters and we still had to pick up my 4th sister from another mother (aka sister in law). Finally we were in the car and heading south for shopping, spa and fun. I laughed so much that my sides hurt. Where ever we went all weekend people would ask what kind of group we were and when we told them we were all sisters they looked shocked. It was fun watching their faces.
This is all my sisters after we bought our hats and those beautiful flowers. (Tammy 2nd oldest, Dawn my sister from another mother aka sister in law, Jennie the adopted one just kidding 3rd sister, Aimie the baby, and me the bestest and the oldest, not really Dawn IS older than me. All of us after the spa day, notice I'm the only one wearing that ugly hat? Really it was just trying to hide some bad hair.
Her are my sisters at On The Border after our wonderful day at the spa. Yup, we wore those silly hats all day long.
Guess what they sell at this store. . . Nope not anything for Christmas. "It's seasonal" who call a store The Christmas Tree Shop and doesn't sell Christmas stuff all year long? Very disappointing.

In Loving Memory

Friday morning a wonderful women lost her battle with cancer. This is the women who started the Edison Academy, the school my son with dyslexia attended for 4 years. The program that was created by Linda Wulle is amazing! It is classes filled with kids with mild forms of learning differences. The kids are all together in one classroom where they are retaught how to learn according to their own learning style, they gain tool, confidence and an ability to advocate for themselves. I know for a fact that if my son was not at Edison Academy he would not be as confident and comfortable with his dyslexia. Thank you Linda for creating such a comfortable, loving place that my child could come and learn with "kids that learn like me" (to quote my son when he found out I was changing his school at 4th grade). The kids at Edison mingle, have lunch, go on field trips and participate with the kids on campus in the regular main stream classrooms but all the learning is done in their own safe and comfortable classroom, without this type of classroom setting my son would never have dared to read aloud, participate or feel good about himself, his confidence would have gone down hill. Thank you Linda Wulle for creating such a wonderful learning environment for my child and all the children past, present and future to pass through the gates of Edison Academy.

We made it to Maine

We flew all night Monday and arrived into New Jersey at 2:30 a.m. west coast time, right through a huge lightening storm. It was pretty but not so safe especially with all the news about plane crashes due to lightening.
This was what it was like before we boarded our plane to head for Maine. Of course as soon as we board our plane and they close the door they tell us we are delayed because of the weather. We sit on the hot plane for over an hour, but we made it!
We left the house today and drove around town today and Wyatt really wanted to see Stephen Kings house. We got there and he wanted to ding dong ditch him because his gate was wide open, "If they didn't want me to do it they wouldn't have left the gate open!" Down the street I saw the most beautiful, old house for sale, I would love to have bought it. It had the original rounded glass windows, a big yard and it was yellow with white trim. Uhhhh. Dream on.

Wyatt and I went driving around to all my old schools today and when I told him my senior year we had our picture up on this sign he wanted one on it as well.

We went to the LL Bean outlet today and this butterfly jumped onto Wyatt's shoe. It was crazy

Dominique's Party

Last night my friend Dominique had a party she sent out several text messages about the party most of them were about the margarita machine, 14 pounds of fajitas, bringing our bathing suits, eating lots of food, never having an empty glass and having to do a few shots. The party was a lot of fun and the food was amazing, Dominique is an amazing hostess. Thank you Dominique.
Melanie wore the kids goggles and they were covered in red zinc the picture doesn't do it justice.

You should never sleep mid afternoon!

We have had a very busy week of fun activities finishing up 8th grade today just did Wyatt in! Last night after getting home at 11:00pm and getting up at 6:00am this morning (he was very cheerful which made me happy) the middle school had an all day pool party. Guess who stayed in the water all day? (Hmmm sounds like his mom huh?) Yup my sweet little angle. We got home and he sat down to watch some show with his grandma and crashed. Poor baby he was sooo tired. I don't think that was such a good idea Wyatt! As he was crashed out and I mean crashed nothing was gonna wake this boy up I had a wonderful idea!!!!
Remember it is the middle of the day and people do not need to be crashed when mom has had a venti latte and a coke late in the morning/ or early in the afternoon depending on the way you look at it.

HEHEHEHEHEHE I love you sonshine!

8th Grade Graduation Night

Tonight was Wyatt's 8th grade graduation, he was so happy. We got home from school and Jeff and Dahlia had come down to watch and support Wyatt on his special night.
Wyatt got his graduation gift from Jeanne and I, it was a new lap top he needed one for high school and his old one was so old and outdated, it is crazy how in 3 years they become obsolete. This "frame" was in the box with his computer so I made everyone hold it up and take a picture, I think they look cool.
Yes, that is Wyatt at a solo microphone, he can't really sing as a matter of fact I think the music teacher had it turned off because I couldn't even hear his sweet, angelic voice. He was only at the microphone alone because only 6 of his class mates showed up to perform.
Here is my proud boy walking to get his diploma, yes that pretty girl is Paola, Gloria's daughter.

Here is a picture of his diploma, I thought they came out so good our own Miss Deidra made them herself, she is very good.

Now I have to go edit my entry from last night, I noticed many mistakes. I am gonna blame it on Happy Hour. Sounds good!

8th Grade Dinner

Wyatt and I before I dropped him off to dinner. He is trying to look shorter than me.
The 8th graders before dinner. (Paola, Brooke, Selina, Olivia, Alicia, Tia, Abby, Sierra, Isaiah, Joey, Max, John and Wyatt)

Paola, Wyatt and Sierra his good friends.
Tia, Wyatt, Brooke and Abby
Tonight was the 8th grade dinner for Wyatt's school, the night before graduation. The kids only got to go to dinner, no parents. Wyatt was so excited, he showered, brushed & flossed teeth, used mouth wash and then put on cologne. (Hmmm . . . I wonder if he used deodorant? Hmmm. . . he must have, stinky pits are sooo gross.) After doing some photos on the deck Wyatt was ready to leave, of course we had well over an hour and the drive to the restaurant was only 15 minutes, but being the good mom I am I leave and drive down near the restaurant. I decide that with all this time to kill I am going to go shopping in Staples (they are having a 1 cent sale). As I am aimlessly wandering the store I continue hearing the count down until its time to be dropped off for dinner. Finally, I get to the check out with my random 1 cent stuff and some stickers I needed for school and some lady in front of us is doing a return and of course they only have 1 register open. "It's 6:20. . .Mom it is now 6:24!" I get to the restaurant right on time, not like some other people who were late! (No, it was not Gloria, she was on time. . .Yeah!) I park the car, which I apparently was not suppose too, I was suppose to do the slow down, push the kid out of the car and speed away before anyone can see, no one told me until I got out of the car with my camera proudly in my hand. After getting a few (8 or 9) pictures the kids went in to eat and Gloria and I decided to go into The Cantina, sit in the very back so we would not be seen (we had very strict instructions that we were not allowed to stay at the same restaurant). We enjoyed our nachos, beers and margartias. Boy the kids were so much happier after they ate and again I got a few more pictures (this time like 30) those kids LOVE to have their pictures take. Tomorrow night graduation.

Today

This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever, in its place is something that you have left behind. . . let it be something GOOD. Take the day by the reins and use it, use it for good.

Dad's Outhouse

My friend Deidra is coming to Maine the last week we are on the east coast, she is coming to the lake for 1 night, she is not an outdoors, woods kind of girl. I thought I would start posting pictures of the woods and lake for her to see how wonderful it is on the lake.
The first picture I came upon is daddy's outhouse, he built it himself and we are all real proud of daddy's outhouse.
The best part of the outhouse is nothing runs down your leg, daddy tilted it just so that wouldn't happen. I think my dad layed some type of steps up to the front door due to all the rain. It was a little bit slippery. Diedra I will post more pictures of the beauty of the lake in days to come.

Hearts on the Beach

I love to go to the beach and collect rocks, yesterday I decided to see how many heart shaped rocks I could find after I found the first one (large one in the middle). Have you ever looked for fun shaped rocks at the beach ? We are never to old to go out and look for rocks.

The ice cream truck came to visit

Today was one of my students birthday's and instead of having cupcakes, cookies or donuts the kids mom sent the ice cream truck, not the regular neighborhood truck but one specific to parties (great idea for a BUSINESS). It was so much fun for the kids. They all got to get two ice creams of their choice and the birthday kid got to pass them all out. It was a great treat on such a warm day.

Girlfriends

Girlfriends are much cheaper that a therapist
and a whole lot more fun.
A girlfriend knows your deep dark secrets,
and likes you anyways.
Girlfriends are no farther away
than the phone,
even at 4 in the morning.
A good girlfriend is hard to find,
impossible to replace
and never forgotten.

Happy Day!

Yesterday we had our 20th annual Neptune Avenue 4th of July Parade. As always Wyatt had
fun decorating his bike and went a little crazy this year, basically anything that was red, white or blue went. The fireworks were amazing, I don't think you are ever to old to enjoy them.

It's my birthday!

Today was my birthday and I had a great day. I had a messy party in my class the kids had a silly string fight, they did pie in your eye then had a cake eating contest. (eating birthday cake with out using hands or forks) they had a great time. One of students used her invetive spelling and wrote me Hape Brthda (Happy Birthday) on my white board.
This is what I was greated with when I picked up Wyatt from the train today. I have the most thoughtful, sweetest son ever.
